Built in 1931 on the grounds of the Ford Motor Company, the Dearborn Inn is listed in the National Register of Historic Places; across the street are the Henry Ford Museum and historically themed Greenfield Village, with entertainment, educational tours, and shopping. Downtown Detroit is 12 miles away.
Set on 23 acres of gardens, woodlands, and manicured lawns, the hotel has a heated outdoor pool and children’s pool (seasonal), and five replica homes of famous Americans, including Patrick Henry, Walt Whitman, and Edgar Allen Poe. Dearborn Inn guestrooms are smoke-free and feature Marriott’s Revive Collection bedding: 300-thread-count cotton linens with white-and-beige design; down duvet with cotton cover, freshly laundered for each guest; six down pillows, including bolster; and a separate mattress topper. Reproductions of 18th and 19th century American furniture and fabrics give guestrooms a historic feel.
Multimedia stations include 37-inch flat-screen TVs with connectivity to laptops, MP3 players, digital cameras, and other devices.
Upon check-in guests can request Marriott’s Wired for Business service, with high-speed Internet access and unlimited local and domestic long-distance calls for a daily fee.
