The Townsend's 150 elegantly-appointed guestrooms and suites offer one king size bed or two double beds, each with hand-carved wooden headboards, 300-thread-count Egyptian-cotton linens, custom Italian duvets, and down pillows. Getting around: The small suburban town of Birmingham is pedestrian-friendly, with shops, restaurants, theaters, and a city park within walking distance of Townsend Hotel. A rental car or taxi is necessary to visit downtown Detroit or any of the other regional points of interest. Rental cars are available on line.
